Dance Classes for Adults to Early Childhood

Adult Beginning Ballet

 

No experience necessary for this class. Come learn the basics of ballet! Please e-mail or call Lori McNamara lmcnamara@wirthcenter.org or (320-255-0318) with preferred day/time for this class. We will begin as soon as we have 4 students. This will be a strictly “beginning” ballet class. Cost same as Adult Beginning/Intermediate Ballet.

   
 

Adult Beginning/Intermediate Ballet

 

This level is for the ballet student who has had some previous ballet training. We will strengthen the established technique and work towards advancement to the next level.

   
 

Adult Intermediate Ballet/Pointe

 
Previous experience is necessary for this class.  The first 90 minutes is devoted to technique work.  An optional 30 minute pointe class will follow.
   
 


 

Music and Movement for Little Ones: (also listed on our Early Childhood Page)

Ages: 3 to 5 Years
This is a class for preschool and kindergarten children who love to move!  Activities include rhythmic warm-ups, fingerplays/body chants, movement songs, imaginative stories, and simple dances with opportunities for children to add their own dance ideas.
   
 

Creative Dance and Ballet: (also listed on our Early Childhood Page)

Ages: 6 to 8 Years
Watch you child’s imagination grow! Activities include rhythmic warm-ups, movement preparation for technique work in ballet, jazz and modern dance, exploration of dance concepts, imaginative stories, songs, folk dances and choreography. Students express themselves through guided movement choices, empowereing them to become dance makers.
   
 

Contemporary Dance / Ballet (also listed on our Early Childhood Page)

Ages: 8 to 12 Years
This class will be based in the Martha Graham Technique (Modern Dance) that utilizes floor work, posture, upper body movement, and ballet that is rooted in the Russian Vaganova Technique. Each weekly class will be divided between these two disciplines. This is a structured class focused on movement, vocabulary, imaginative expression, and attention to musicality.
