Since 1999, this monthly performance series presents, supports and encourages Minnesota's most gifted emerging young artists, utilizing the 19th century ambiance of a salon concert. Pre-college musicians are chosen to perform in this series after winning a major regional, national or international competition in the previous school year. These recitals are presented by the Wirth Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Salon se Lève's Volunteer Council/Contributing Membership and the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Downtown, Minneapolis . As has been our tradition, all concerts (except the Benefit Concert) are free and open to the public. The program is funded through generous donations of its contributing members.

Hear some of the greatest music ever written in a venue much like that in which it was meant to be heard - UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!
Depending on when you arrive, you will sit as close as ten feet and no further than thirty five
from truly amazing performers, playing the Music of the Masters right before your eyes - literally hearing them breathe and watching their hands do things most human beings can’t imagine. If you don’t attend classical concerts because they are not exciting enough, not palpable enough, or not engaging enough, you haven’t been to Salon se Lève!… and the Benefit Concert will feature some of the finest young artists in the country including winners of national and international competitions, and laureates of venues like Lincoln Center, NYC - alumni of Salon se Lève - up close, and personal…
After the concert, at the reception (yes there is food too!), you will also get to meet the performers and shake their hands? It is a thrill to shake their hands - the hands of thousands of hours of practice to become virtuosos on their instrument - and find out how they got where they are today.
This is why you will enjoy the Salon se Lève Benefit Concert… but there is more!
By attending, you are supporting the community of the keepers and purveyors of the greatest music ever written, and helping to build it from the bottom up. Salon se Lève is at the forefront of this mission - to encourage our classical kids in a sports dominated culture.. to lift them up and send them off knowing they are appreciated for their inspiring example.
“Professional” concerts have their place - usually in a BIG place which can be impersonal. You won’t want to miss this experience - “UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!”
